James is a Greek – Scottish composer and electric guitarist whose work seeks a space between contemporary classical, rock, improvisational and electronic music, and also includes installation-like musical performances.
Education
James earned in 2016 a First-Class Honours BMUS in composition from Birmingham Conservatoire, where he he was also the winner of the 2016 Birmingham Chamber Music Society Composition Prize (adjudicated by Richard Ayres).
In 2018 James earned a MMus in composition from The Royal Conservatoire of the Hague, where he received a distinction “for the development of a new musical praxis and relation with audience through new techniques and technology”.

James’s work has been featured in several international Festivals including: The Gaudeamus Muziekweek (Utrecht, Netherlands), Rewire (The Hague, Netherlands), Warsaw Autumn (Warsaw, Poland), Time of Music (Viitasaari, Finland), Athens Tectonics (Athens, Greece), Music in PeyongChang (PeyongChang, South Korea), Frontiers Festival (Birmingham, England), Harmos Plural (Porto, Portugal).
Performances of James’s work have taken place in venues including the Muziekgebouw (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Onassis Stegi (Athens, Greece), Korzo Theatre (The Hague, Netherlands), Tivoli Vredenburg (Utrecht, Netherlands), Casa da Música (Porto, Portugal), and concerts featuring James’s work have also taken place in the U.S.A., Canada, Germany, Norway, Sweden, The Chzeck Republic and Malaysia.
